The Bombay High Court has called for affidavits from the General Managers of Central and Western Railways due to high commuter mortality rates on Mumbai local trains. Chief Justice Devendra Upadhyaya expressed shame over the commuting conditions and hoped to reduce the death ratio per thousand commuters to below that of London. The court also sought the assistance of Additional Solicitor General Devang Vyas to address the issue comprehensively.
