BSF sends 29 Kashmiri students on educational-cum-motivational Bharat Darshan Tour

New Delhi: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday sent a contingent of 29 Kashmiri students from different schools of Kashmir Valley for educational-cum-motivational Bharat Darshan Tour.
These students, including seven girls and 22 boys, have been sent for Bharat Darshan Tour to Mumbai by air.
During the seven-day tour, the group will visit all the major tourist attractions in and around Mumbai, like the Gateway of India, Nehru Science Centre, Marine Drive, Jahangir Art Gallery, Haji Ali Dargah, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre etc spreading the message of love and peace from the valley. The groups are provided with free lodging, boarding, clothing and transportation during the tour.
The move was taken by the BSF as part of the Civic Action Programme of the government of India and in continuation of its commitment to the people of Kashmir valley, a statement issued by the BSF called India’s first line of defence mentioned.

BSF Inspector General (Kashmir Frontier) Ashok Yadav flagged off the contingent from the force Frontier Headquarters in Humhama, Srinagar.
As part of its efforts to engage with the border community and youth, the BSF Kashmir has so far sent 1,100 youth from remote areas of Kashmir Valley to various parts of the country through several Bharat Darshan Tours.
During this year, BSF is going to organise five Bharat Darshan Tours in which total of 105 students belonging to Kashmir Valley will participate, said the statement.
“The aim of these tours is to acquaint the youths with various cultures, customs and ethos of our country. These tours would help in motivating the youth to develop a broader perspective, improve their understanding and knowledge through observation and make them aware about the academic and professional opportunities available in other parts of the country,” it added.

Bengaluru: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) are carrying out searches at various locations in Shivamogga district of Karnataka in connection with the Mangaluru blast case.
Searches are being conducted at the houses of suspected terrorists, including Mohammed Shariq, the main accused in the November 19 pressure cooker blast in an autorickshaw in Mangaluru, Home Minister Araga Jnanendra said on Wednesday. “ED officials are in the area where the houses of suspected terrorists Shariq, Maz Muneer and Mateen are located in Thirthahalli (Shivamogga). Their houses are being searched. Officers are also collecting information from neighbouring houses,” Jnanendra said.

A moving auto-rickshaw had exploded on November 19 last year triggered by a bomb in a pressure cooker that led to unravelling of a terror plot aimed at fuelling communal tensions in the coastal region and in the state, police had said.
Shariq, who was carrying a pressure cooker bomb made IED and Purushottam Poojari, the autorickshaw driver were injured in the blast.
Shariq was en-route to a pre-decided location for carrying out the blast when the explosion took place. The Forensic Science Laboratory Division (FSL) team reached the house rented by Shariq in Mysore the next day and recovered materials used to make explosives.
