CM Stalin Announces ₹ 5 Lakh Compensation For Kin Of Landslip Victims

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin on Tuesday condoled the loss of seven lives in the Tiruvannamalai landslip and announced an ex-Garcia of ₹ 5 lakh to the family of the dead.

The landslip occurred on December 1 when a massive boulder and mud collapsed onto the house of one Rajkumar on 11th Street in V.O.C. Nagar, Tiruvannamalai, following torrential rain.

After the tragedy, more than 500 residents from the surrounding area were relocated to community halls for safety.

The Panjagutta police on Tuesday booked BRS MLA and nephew of BRS President and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, T. Harish Rao, and others.

A case against the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and others was registered at Panjagutta Police Station in Hyderabad on a complaint by G. Chakradhar Goud, a real estate businessman. The complainant, who is also the founder of Farmers First Foundation, alleged harassment, threats, and unlawful phone surveillance.

Goud, in the past, joined the BJP after getting denied a ticket to contest from the BJP. He joined BSP and lost the assembly polls.
