Chetan Patil, a structural consultant, was arrested on Friday in connection with the collapse of a 35-foot statue. The statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj collapsed in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra. The statue fell just nine months after Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled it. Patil, named in the FIR, denied being responsible for the statue, claiming his work was limited to the platform while a separate company handled it.
