Police have begun tracking the civic waste collection network in order to find Shraddha’s garments
New Delhi: Delhi Police today recovered sharp objects which can be used for cutting from Aftab Ameen Poonawala’s flat. Police suspect that Aftab might have used them as tools to chop Shraddha Walker’s body into 35 pieces, reported NDTV.
Police said, “Aftab has started revealing the truth after strict interrogation, and himself helped the police recover the vital evidence from his Chhatarpur flat.”
NDTV reported that police have recovered a heavy black polythene bag from Aftab’s workplace.
The recovery of the weapon will be critical in progressing the investigation.
Aftab did online research and learned that while dismembering a dead body, blood splatters can fall up to a few feet. Hence while cutting the body he maintained a distance of several feet, police said. Police stated that he also removed all the blood stains with a special kind of acid.

As per the NDTV report, the forensic team is claiming that blood stains would still be present on the clothes worn by Aftab while chopping the body. Aftab has stated that he has disposed of Shraddha’s bloodstained clothes in the civic garbage van, police said. Police are still looking for their clothes.
Police have begun tracking the civic waste collection network in order to find Shraddha’s garments. According to NDTV sources, authorities have found two rubbish dumping sites in the couple’s neighborhood. Police have picked up all the clothes found at the flat in hope of getting more clues.
Several body parts have been found in the forests in Mehrauli. It is yet to be determined that those parts are of Shraddha’s body. Her severed head which Aftab allegedly kept in a fridge for days is missing. On Tuesday, when police took Aftab to the forest, they found ten bags of body parts.
Police have still not found Shraddha’s mobile phone.
A DNA test will be conducted in 15 days to confirm if the body parts found are of Shraddha, police said.
The police are also looking into surveillance footage and have requested information from the dating app Bumble, where Aftab and Shraddha met three years ago.
A Saket court has ordered a Narco test for Aftab Amin Poonawalla in the Shraddha murder case. The Narco test is a specialized examination and an advanced tool for interrogation. The court permitted police to conduct the test after Poonawalla consented, telling the judge he was aware of the consequences. Aaftab Amin Poonawalla killed his live-in partner Shraddha Walker and chopped her body into 35 pieces. He was nabbed by police after being caught in his fabricated story.
