The Supreme Court has summoned Yoga guru Baba Ramdev and Patanjali Ayurved’s Managing Director Acharya Balkrishna in response to alleged misleading advertisements. The court issued a contempt notice against Patanjali for promoting medicines without evidence. Despite previous directions, no response was filed.
The court criticized the delay and demanded their presence. Additionally, it chastised the Union Ayush Ministry for a belated response and directed them to submit a fresh affidavit. The case revolves around Patanjali’s claims regarding the effectiveness of its products for various health conditions, which the Indian Medical Association challenged.
