Cricketers Bestow Praises, As Virat Kohli Scores Much-Awaited 71st Century

Virat Kohli struck a high-quality 122 not out off 61 balls for his 71st international hundred to take India to 212 for two after Afghanistan put India in to bat.

After a wait of more than 1000 days, Virat Kohli got the most-awaited 71st hundred in international cricket to set up India’s massive 101-run win over Afghanistan and lighten up the dead rubber in the Asia Cup here on Thursday.

Virat Kohli struck a high-quality 122 not out off 61 balls for his 71st international hundred to take India to 212 for two after Afghanistan put India in to bat.

Moreover, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was not in the best of his form until yesterday, ended up with career-best figures of five wickets for four runs in 24 balls, including 20 dot deliveries.

Former Indian opener Virendra Sehwag said “Pehle VK Phir BK. #INDvsAFG“, which translates to, first VK(Virat Kohli and then BK (Bhuvneshwar Kumar).

Former India leggie Amit Mishra, Shared an emotional reaction of a fan in the stand and captioned the picture as, “Nothing can buy this respect.. this is what a cricketer plays for. A brilliant hundred  @imVkohli. We hope we don’t have to wait so long for your 72nd century. #IndvsAFG.”
