The city has been suffering from severe heatwave conditions, with maximum temperatures near 50 degrees Celsius and minimums close to 30 degrees. The India Meteorological Department had predicted a high of 45.8 degrees today, but Mungeshpur hit the record-breaking temperature at 2.30 pm.
