Railway officials reported the cancellation of 54 trains on the Ambala-Amritsar route on Saturday due to farmers’ ongoing protest at Shambhu railway station in Punjab’s Patiala district, now in its fourth day. Protesters demand the release of three arrested farmers, disrupting the movement of 380 trains over three days and causing passenger inconvenience. The non-political Samyukta Kisan Morcha and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha led the protest at Shambhu, vowing to continue until the farmers’ release.
