Former Madhya Pradesh HC Judge Rohit Arya Joins BJP

Three months after retirement, former Madhya Pradesh High Court judge Justice Rohit Arya joined the Bhartiya Janata Party on Saturday. He was quoted by LiveLaw saying: “My thinking aligns with the philosophy of the BJP, a party that believes in human values”. A judge at the High Court for 11 years, Justice Arya had denied bail to comedians Munawar Faruqui and Nalin Yadav in 2021 – who were accused of hurting religious sentiments – among other judgments.
