โ€œGood news would come soon,โ€ Rahul Gandhi said to reporters while coming out of a presumed reconciliatory meeting between Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot

Alwar (Rajasthan): โ€œGood news would come soon,โ€ Rahul Gandhi said to reporters while coming out of a presumed reconciliatory meeting between Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot at a circuit house in Alwar, Rajasthan.

Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday held a meeting with Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot presumably attempting reconciliation between the two senior Congress leaders. Answering questions from reporters while coming out of the meeting, Rahul said that good news would come soon. Congress National General Secretary KC Venugopal was also present at the meeting.

โ€œGood news will come soon,โ€ said the former Congress President when asked whether reconciliation was reached between Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot.
The meeting between the four leaders lasted nearly 30 minutes after which Gandhi left the spot for the Bharat Jodo camp. Following this statement by Rahul, speculations are high that a reconciliation between the CM and the former deputy CM has been reached.
Tight security arrangements had been made for the former Congress Presidentโ€™s visit. Rahul stayed at the circuit house for nearly one and a half hours and held a meeting with the Congress leaders.

Since Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud took office a little over a month ago, the Supreme Court of India has decided on 6,844 cases, including 2,511 bail and transfer petitions

Delhi: A total of 5,898 cases were filed between November 9, when Chief Justice DY Chandrachud took over, and December 16, the last working day before the SC went on winter break, according to data made public by the Supreme Court administration on Monday.

The CJI had decided that all 13 benches will hear 10 transfer petitions involving marriage issues and the equivalent number of bail applications each day during a full court meeting in November.

Chief Justice DY   Justice Chandrachud stated, โ€œAfter a full court meeting, we have decided that each Bench will take up 10 transfer petitions, which are family matters, followed by 10 bail matters every day to dispose of all such matters before the winter vacation.โ€

According to Hindustan Times, there were ten such days between November 9 and December 16 when the Supreme Court decided more than 300 cases. Chandrachud, the countryโ€™s 50th Chief Justice, presided over the highest court as it made decisions on an average of 236 cases every day, including 90 requests for bail and transfer.

The top court had said there were 3,000 pending petitions pertaining to matrimonial cases where parties are seeking transfer of cases.

The entire court had stated that 13 benches would be able to reach decisions if each bench took 10 transfer cases on a daily basis, โ€œ130 cases per day and 650 per week. So at the end of five weeks which we have before closing before winter vacations, all transfer petitions will be over.โ€

In order to ease the strain on judges who are required to view case files until late at night, Justice Chandrachud had also stated that he had chosen to reduce the number of cases that will be listed at the last minute in the supplementary list.
