Gyanvapi Case: High Court Denies Petition, Hindu Prayers Continue

Today, The Allahabad High Court dismissed a petition challenging the Varanasi court order allowing Hindu prayers in the Gyanvapi mosque cellar, sought by petitioner Shailendra Pathak, who claimed hereditary rights as a priest to perform rituals in the khana where his maternal grandfather had done so until 1993. One of four Gyanvapi mosque basement cellars remains under the Vyas family’s control.
