The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a heatwave in several states, including Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Telangana, over the next five days. Temperatures are expected to rise by 3 to 4 degrees. Thane, Raigad, and parts of Mumbai have been put on heatwave alert from April 27 to 29 due to an anti-cyclonic circulation, according to IMD scientist Sushma Nair.
