The Indian Oil’s Mumbai division announced a national flag collection drive. The PSU has appealed to the citizens to return the flags that are no longer in use at the nearest petrol pumps run by the organization.
India, on Monday, celebrated the 76th Independence Day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative under which various programs and campaigns.
One of the campaigns was “Har Ghar Tiranga in which the PM had appealed citizens to buy the tricolour and hoist them at their homes and offices. Meanwhile, messages circulated on social media on how to fold and preserve the flags.

Marathi film actress Prajakta Mali also tweeted about the initiative and said “Respect the Tricolor… Save it with dignity… if You can’t, return it with dignity, “the tweet read in Marathi.
