Hyderabad: MP Santosh Kumar Extends Rs10 Lakh Assistance For Development Of Botanical Garden

After flagging off the 10K, 5K and 3K Run for Peace organised by the Botanical Garden Walkers Association here on Sunday, the MP complimented the Association members for organizing such events on Gandhi Jayanthi.

Addressing the public, MP said, โ€œAfter being caught in busy work schedules, many people were neglecting the importance of fitness and health. And, events like Run for Peace stress and motivate people towards a healthy life.โ€

โ€œImpressed with the Association membersโ€™ commitment to developing the Botanical Garden, I am announcing Rs 10 lakh funds,โ€ Santosh Kumar further said.

After Santosh Kumarโ€™s announcement, Medak MP K Prabhakar Reddy, local MLA A Gandhi and Forest Development Corporation Chairman V Pratap Reddy each announced Rs 10 lakh financial assistance for the development of the Garden.

The Botanical Garden Walkers Association members thanked the TRS leaders for contributing Rs 40 lakh towards the development of the Garden.

New Delhi| Senior Congress leader and partyโ€™s Delhi unit chief Ajay Maken slammed the Aam Admi Party government and even demanded party chief Arvind Kejriwalโ€™s resignation for the row over former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhiโ€™s Bharat Ratna.

On Friday, Delhi assembly passed the resolution citing Rajiv Gandhiโ€™s failure to curb violence during 1984 Anti-Sikh riots. Reportedly, the resolution was moved by AAP MLA Jarnail Singh was passed by a voice vote in the House. However, Jarnail Singh later clarified that proposal of withdrawal of Bharat Ratna of Rajiv Gandhi wasnโ€™t a part of the original resolution. He said, โ€œIt was my feeling and I said it. Technically it wasnโ€™t in the notice.โ€

However, Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken hit back at Arvind Kejriwal saying that the party chief should apologize for such a proposal. He further demanded the portion to be expunged from the assemblyโ€™s proceedings. He said, โ€œRajiv Gandhi sacrificed his life for the country. Not even BJP has ever demanded to take back Bharat Ratna from him. Kejriwal should apologise and this portion of the resolution should be expunged from the assemblyโ€™s proceedings.โ€
