IIT Bombay fined students Rs 1.2 lakh each for a play, โ€˜Raahovanโ€™, deemed derogatory to Lord Ram and disrespectful to Hindu culture. The play, performed during an annual arts festival, drew social media backlash. Graduating students also lost gymkhana award recognition, while juniors were fined Rs 40,000 and banned from hostels.

Supreme Court Halts NEET Cases; Notifies NTA, Centre

On Thursday, the Supreme Court paused all NEET-UG 2024 cases in various High Courts, issuing notices to the Centre and NTA. Justices Vikram Nath and SVN Bhatti requested responses by July 8. They reviewed 14 petitions, 10 from students and a student organization, and four from the NTA, which sought case transfers to the Supreme Court.
