Indian naval commandos successfully liberated the Malta-flagged commercial vessel MV Ruen on Saturday, seized by Somali pirates on December 14, 450 nautical miles east of Socotra in the northern Arabian Sea. Indian authorities plan to apprehend and prosecute 35 Somali pirates captured by their navy during the ship’s hijacking off Somalia. The specific charges against the pirates remain undisclosed at this time.
