ISRO has commenced the development of India’s first space station, aiming for an operational launch by 2035. ISRO Chief S Somanath anticipates the initial modules will be sent into orbit within the next few years. The Bharatiya Antariksh Station, accommodating 2 to 4 astronauts, is part of India’s ambitious space exploration plans, seeking to join Russia, the US, and China in having an independent space station. The heavy rocket, Bahubali, will be employed for the mission.
