Srinagar: A Pakistani terrorist, associated with the Jaish-e-Mohammad, was neutralised by the Indian Army in a joint operation with security forces on Monday at Welsbatapura village in Jammu and Kashmirโ€™s Kulgam district.

The killed terrorist was identified as Abu Hurrarah. According to PRO (Defence), Srinagar, on receipt of specific information regarding the presence of unidentified terrorists in Kulgam, a joint cordon and search operation was launched in the area by Indian Army along with J-K Police and CRPF at about 01:45 pm on September 26.

โ€œQuick cordon around the suspected cluster of houses in the village was established by the security forces. On suspecting the presence of one to two terrorists in one of the houses, the Security Forces started evacuating the civilians in the vicinity to a safe location. As has been observed in earlier operations as well, the terrorist opened indiscriminate fire targeting civilians, in hope of exploiting an opportunity to escape. Sensing the danger to civilian lives and disregarding personal safety, the troops speeded up the evacuation process, simultaneously pinning down the terrorist with accurate fire,โ€ said the PRO.

โ€œOn positive confirmation of no civilian presence around the target house, Army conducted a deliberate operation to neutralise the terrorist. The terrorist was subsequently neutralised and has been identified by JKP as Abu Hurrarah, a resident of Pakistan and a hardcore member of the Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist organisation. One AK series rifle, one pistol, grenades and other warlike stores have been recovered,โ€ the official added.

Uddhav Thackeray halted the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Metro 3 corridorโ€™s construction after assuming the position of Chief Minister in 2019 and created a team to explore for alternate properties. Aarey Colony was classified as a reserve forest by the Aghadi administration.

After the Eknath Shinde government overruled the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi administrationโ€™s decision to move the Metro 3 vehicle shed out of the Aarey colony, former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray launched a full-scale attack on the Shinde administration on Friday.

The Shiv Sena leader requested the metro car shed to arrive at Kanjurmarg during his speech at the Sena Bhawan in Mumbai, expressing concerns that the governmentโ€™s decision may result in the Aarey forests being gradually opened for development.

โ€œDonโ€™t make Mumbaikars feel angry because of me. Donโ€™t make any changes to the metro shed idea. Donโ€™t toy with the environment of Mumbai,โ€ the former Chief Minister said.

The underground metro project was delayed as a result of a dispute between the previous government and the Centre over the location of a proposed car depot in Kanjurmarg, Mumbai.

Thackeray slammed the rebel Shiv Sena MLAs throughout his speech and argued for the right to recall for the voters.

โ€œThose who created the new government appointed an alleged Shiv Sainik as the CM. 2.5 years ago, I said the same thing. Shiv Sena and BJP will each split the CM office for a half-term, as agreed upon by Amit Shah and I.โ€ According to him, everything that occurred today would have been done with respect.

Thackeray questioned why the BJP did it now rather than when the Shiv Sena was formally allied with them in the state and at the federal level.
