Japanese Lawmaker Koichi Hagiuda To Meet BJP Chief JP Nadda Today

New Delhi:  Koichi Hagiuda, a member of House of Representatives, Japan will call on BJP president JP Nadda at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Hagiuda is the chairperson of the Policy Research Council of Liberal Democratic Party of Japan. He previously served as Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry from October 2021 to August 2022 and Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology from 2019 to 2021.

He also served as Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary in former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abeโ€™s administration.

He previously served as Abeโ€™s special advisor. BJPโ€™s Foreign Affairs Department in-charge Vijay Chauthaiwale said Japan and India have a strong partnership on several global bilateral issues and Hagiuda meeting Nadda will further enhance people-to-people outreach between the two countries.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has proposed January 30 as the date for holding the mayoral polls in the national capital, reported India Today.

A report with this proposal was sent to Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Tuesday evening.MCDโ€™s first house meeting was held on January 6 and ended without the election of the mayor, deputy mayor, and standing committee members after clashes erupted between AAP and BJP councilors.

They clashed over the presiding officerโ€™s decision to administer the oath to the 10 aldermen first. The oathtaking was postponed and the meeting was disrupted as the AAP councilors stood on the tables, including those of the presiding officer.
