Katchatheevu Dispute: Chidambaram’s ‘Tweet For Tweet’ Jibe At Jaishankar

Former Finance Minister and prominent Congress figure P Chidambaram criticized External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s stance on the ongoing Katchatheevu island dispute. Chidambaram took to social media to express his disapproval, suggesting that Jaishankar’s opinions can swiftly change, implying inconsistency.

Referencing modern methods of retaliation, he remarked, “Tit for tat is old. Tweet for tweet is the new weapon.” The dispute reignited following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent remarks criticizing Congress for ceding the strategic island to Sri Lanka in the 1970s. Jaishankar, in turn, rebuked the DMK and Congress, suggesting they evade responsibility regarding the island matter.

ED Claims Arvind Kejriwal Named 2 AAP ministers On Key Question

Akanksha Yadav

The Enforcement Directorate asserts that during questioning regarding the liquor policy case, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal implicated fellow Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) members Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj. Kejriwal purportedly stated that Vijay Nair, the ex-communication-in-charge of AAP and a defendant in the case, reported to Atishi Marlena and Saurabh Bharadwaj rather than him.

Kejriwal’s interactions with Nair were allegedly limited. Nair’s involvement in the scandal correlates with his tenure as the party’s communication in-charge, aligning with the timeline of the alleged irregularities.
