Kejriwal Slams BJP Says, โ€œGave Mountain Of Garbage And Nothingโ€

Kejriwal

Kejriwal said, โ€œThink a little. What did the BJP give to Delhi except for mountains of dirt and garbage? Forget your party once and vote for the countryโ€

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal arrived at the Ghazipur landfill site on Thursday. He appealed to BJP supporters to vote for him by citing that BJP gave Delhi only a mountain of dirt and garbage.

He said, โ€œThink a little. What did the BJP give to Delhi except for mountains of dirt and garbage? Forget your party once and vote for the country.โ€

Kejriwalโ€™s visit to Delhiโ€™s largest garbage dumps comes ahead of the upcoming elections for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).

He slammed BJP as BJP rules Delhiโ€™s civic body. He said, โ€œThe BJP, which has been sitting in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi for the last 15 years has spread garbage everywhere in Delhi. Today I have come to see their Ghazipur garbage mountain.โ€

He added that one day even BJP leader Sambit Patra will also say that the BJP is a dirty party and AAP is a good party. He said, โ€œOne day BJP workers will become part of AAP.โ€

Before Kejriwalโ€™s visit, BJP workers protested with black flags and were sloganeering against AAP. BJP workers stomped on AAP flags. Some workers blocked roads while protesting. They raised the slogan โ€œKejriwal Haye Haye.โ€

In retaliation, AAP workers started chanting  โ€œBJP murdabadโ€.

โ€œI was surprised to see BJP workers protesting,โ€ said Kejriwal, โ€œI am only here to see what the BJP-run MCD has done. The BJP had just one big task โ€” keeping Delhi clean. And it has failed. We will not protest if the BJP wants to come to see the schools weโ€™ve built, the mohalla clinics weโ€™ve built.โ€

For Civic Body Polls, AAP has made sanitation a central issue.

In defense, BJP has stated that AAP is lying and they have not given sufficient funds to MCD.

Election dates arenโ€™t formally out yet.

In Delhi, the BJP won the erstwhile south, north, and east Delhi municipal corporations in 2017 โ€” elections were held together โ€” winning 181 of 272 seats. In the now-unified MCD, the number of seats has been fixed at 250.
