Kejriwal said, “Think a little. What did the BJP give to Delhi except for mountains of dirt and garbage? Forget your party once and vote for the country”

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal arrived at the Ghazipur landfill site on Thursday. He appealed to BJP supporters to vote for him by citing that BJP gave Delhi only a mountain of dirt and garbage.

He said, “Think a little. What did the BJP give to Delhi except for mountains of dirt and garbage? Forget your party once and vote for the country.”

Kejriwal’s visit to Delhi’s largest garbage dumps comes ahead of the upcoming elections for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).

He slammed BJP as BJP rules Delhi’s civic body. He said, “The BJP, which has been sitting in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi for the last 15 years has spread garbage everywhere in Delhi. Today I have come to see their Ghazipur garbage mountain.”

He added that one day even BJP leader Sambit Patra will also say that the BJP is a dirty party and AAP is a good party. He said, “One day BJP workers will become part of AAP.”

Before Kejriwal’s visit, BJP workers protested with black flags and were sloganeering against AAP. BJP workers stomped on AAP flags. Some workers blocked roads while protesting. They raised the slogan “Kejriwal Haye Haye.”

In retaliation, AAP workers started chanting ┬а“BJP┬аmurdabad”.

“I was surprised to see BJP workers protesting,” said Kejriwal, “I am only here to see what the BJP-run MCD has done. The BJP had just one big task тАФ keeping Delhi clean. And it has failed. We will not protest if the BJP wants to come to see the schools we’ve built, the mohalla┬аclinics we’ve built.”

For Civic Body Polls, AAP has made sanitation a central issue.

In defense, BJP has stated that AAP is lying and they have not given sufficient funds to MCD.

Election dates aren’t formally out yet.

In Delhi, the BJP won the erstwhile south, north, and east Delhi municipal corporations in 2017 тАФ elections were held together тАФ winning 181 of 272 seats. In the now-unified MCD, the number of seats has been fixed at 250.
