Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024: NCP Releases First List Of 38 Candidates

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) released its first list of 38 candidates for the upcoming state Assembly elections on Wednesday. Ajit Pawar himself will be contesting from Baramati, a seat he has represented for over two decades. Other key figures include Chhagan Bhujbal from Yeola and Dilip Walse Patil from Ambegaon.

While the complete seat-sharing arrangement of the Mahayuti alliance is yet to be announced, Ajit Pawar’s NCP faction is expected to contest 52-54 seats in total. In the recent Lok Sabha elections, the NCP secured leads in just six assembly segments, a significant drop from the 40 seats it currently holds in the Maharashtra Assembly.
