Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra complained to the Election Commission, alleging harassment by the CBI hindering her election campaign. The complaint came after consecutive raids by the CBI on her premises in connection with the cash-for-query case. Moitra, contesting from Krishnanagar Lok Sabha seat, accused the CBI of deliberately targeting her campaign.
She emphasized the need for guidelines on investigating agencies’ conduct during the Model Code of Conduct. The raids followed an FIR against her directed by the Lokpal, stemming from cash-for-vote allegations that led to her expulsion from the Lok Sabha in December. The TMC has nominated her again from Krishnanagar.
