Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain Quit As Ministers, Arvind Kejriwal Accepts Their Resignations

Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI for alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now-scrapped liquor policy for 2021โ€“22 in the national capital.

Jailed Aam Aadmi Party leaders Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain have resigned as ministers, and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has accepted their resignations, reported India Today. 

If sentenced to two years or more in jail, Sisodia and Jain may lose their seats and canโ€™t contest polls for six years.

Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI for alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now-scrapped liquor policy for 2021โ€“22 in the national capital.

Satyendar Jain was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in May last year for his alleged involvement in a money laundering case.

Chief Justice Of India DY Chandrachud has refused to entertain Manish Sisodiaโ€™s petition for quashing of the FIR or in the alternative, grant him bail from CBI custody and asked Manish Sisodiya to approach the High court.

Supreme Court says it can not interfere or intervene in the matter and that just because an incident happens in Delhi does not mean the matter will come to the Supreme Court.
