National Herald Case: Sonia Gandhi Seeks More Time To Appear Before ED

Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has requested the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to postpone her questioning by a few weeks in the National Herald case.

New Delhi: Sonia Gandhi, the president of the Congress, requested in a letter to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday that her appearance be delayed for a few weeks until she has fully recovered from a lung infection and Covid-19.

“Since she’s been strictly advised rest at home following her hospitalisation on account of Covid & lung infection, Congress Pres Sonia Gandhi has written to ED today seeking postponement of her appearance there by a few weeks till she’s recovered completely,” tweeted Congress leader Jairam Ramesh.

The Congress President was released on Monday after receiving care at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi.

She has been summoned by the ED in the National Herald money laundering case in which her son and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi were questioned for more than 50 hours in five days.
