Karnataka Chief Minister handed over BJP youth leader Praveen Nettaru’s murder to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
Mumbai: In less than a week the state of Karnataka has seen 2 murders in a row and as per reports it was seen that both the murders had a similar pattern of attack.
The Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday in a meeting with the state police chief Praveen Sood and other officials announced that the probe for the murder of the BJP youth leader Praveen Nettaru will be handled by National Investigation Agency (NIA) as the case seems to be an organized crime with inter-state links.
The government has decided to install surveillance cameras, set up checkpoints at important connection points, establish temporary police camps in sensitive towns and cities, fill vacancies, and deploy another Karnataka State Reserve Police Battalion (KSRP) to Dakshina Kannada and night surveillance, according to Bommai.
It was also decided to intensify the investigation into the murder of 23-year-old Mohammed Fazil in Surathkal. “The culprits must be arrested. It has been decided to form teams to investigate this matter,” Bommai said. Once the dust settles, the government will organize a district-level peace meeting with all religious leaders, Bommai said.
