Odisha: Another Russian Found Dead On Ship, Third Incident In Less Than Two Weeks

Paradip: Another Russian was found dead on January 3 in Odisha. This is the third Russian death in less than two weeks time in the state, police said.

The Russian, identified as Milyakov Sergey. His body was found in a ship anchored at Paradip Port in Jagatsinghpur district. Sergey was the chief engineer of the vessel, M B Aldnah. The vessel was on its way to Mumbai from Chittagong Port in Bangladesh via Paradip.

Around 4:30 in the morning was found dead in his ship chamber. Police could not immediately ascertain the cause of the death.

Paradip Port Trust Chairman P L Haranand confirming the news said that an investigation of the matter is underway.

In December 2022 end, in Rayagada town in southern Odisha, two Russian tourists including a lawmaker were found dead under mysterious circumstances.

On December 24, 2022, Pavel Antov (65), a lawmaker in Russia, died after allegedly falling from a hotel’s third floor. On December 2022, his friend Vladimir Bidenov (61) was found dead in his room. Odisha Police is probing both the matters.
