Patanjali Apologizes After SC Summons Ramdev In Ads Case

Acharya Balkrishna, Patanjali Ayurved’s managing director and associate of Yoga guru Ramdev, has regretted the company’s deceptive product claims and their medicinal effectiveness in the Supreme Court. The apology came after the court’s rebuke for ignoring a contempt notice regarding misleading advertisements. Justice Hima Kohli and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah instructed Balkrishna and Ramdev to appear in court on April 2. In an affidavit, Balkrishna affirmed his respect for the law and offered an “unqualified apology,” pledging to prevent similar advertisements in the future.
