Rahul Gandhi Calls EC “Compromised” ; BJP Reacts

BJP calls Lok Sabha LoP anti-India

Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition of the Lok Sabha said today that the Election Commission was “compromised” and that there was “something very wrong with the system.”

Rahul said that there were an additional 65 lakh voters added to Maharashtra’s voter list in two hours.

The Congress MP was addressing the Indian diaspora in Boston, USA.

“More people voted in Maharashtra than the total number of people in the state, and this is a fact. The Election Commission gave us a figure in the evening around 5.30 pm, and in two hours, around 7.30 pm, 65 lakh voters had voted, which is physically impossible,” Gandhi claimed as he addressed the Indian diaspora which was present there.

“It’s very clear to us that the Election Commission is compromised, there is something very wrong with the system,” he said was so.

He added that India has good relations with the US.  He also hoped that both the countries would continue working together.

“We have a partnership with the US, and hopefully we will continue to work together,” Rahul Gandhi said.

Showing his gratitude, he thanked the Indian diaspora for coming and for bringing the flag of the Congress to the United States.

“You believe, you listen to other people, and you respect them. This is what runs in the Congress party and in our family. Thank you for carrying the flag here, it’s a very powerful thing to do…” he said.

The BJP called the Congress MP a “serial offender” and “agent of George Soros”, and accused him “defaming” the country. Meanwhile, the opposition party insisted its rival can’t always cry ‘defamation’.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and other Congress leaders were named by the Enforcement Directorate in a charge sheet. It will be heard by a Delhi court later this week.
