New Delhi:  Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday remembered the martyrs of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack and paid them tribute.

โ€œSoldiers who gave the supreme sacrifice to protect India are the pride of the nation. My humble tribute to the brave heart warriors and citizens who sacrificed their lives in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack,โ€ Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet. โ€œHindustan (India) has always stood against threat and violence, and it will continue to stand against it,โ€ he said.

On November 26, 2008, ten Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists (LeT) carried out 12 coordinated shooting and bombing attacks killing at least 166 people, including 18 security personnel and leaving 300 wounded in Mumbai.

โ€œI lost my uncle Jaywant Patil. Several years have gone by, and we still canโ€™t forget it,โ€ Divya Patil, niece of Mumbai Police constable, Jaywant Patil โ€“ one of the security personnel who were killed in the Mumbai Terror Attack.

โ€œBut the Govt has at least remembered a lot of things, which is a positive note for us,โ€ the girl said while speaking to Sources

Veteran Actor Vikram Gokhale Passes Away At Pune Hospital

Veteran film actor Vikram Gokhale passed away in Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital on Saturday, the Pune hospital where he was in critical condition said.

He was 77. Gokhale was hosptialised for some time now and was โ€œlife support.โ€

His body will be kept for Antim Darshan at Balgandharv Rangmanch.

His last rites conducted 6 pm at Vaikunth Samshan Bhumi in Pune, the hospital said in a statement.

On Thursday there was a rumour about the veteranโ€™s death after which several Bollywood celebrities including Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Aly Goni, Jaaved Jaafery took to Twitter to express condolences.
Dr Dhananjay Kelkar from Deenanth Mangeshkar Hospital as well as the actorโ€™s daughter later refuted the rumours,

Over a career spanning more than 40 years, Gokhale has appeared in various Marathi and Bollywood films, including โ€˜Agneepath,โ€™ starring Amitabh Bachchan in 1990, and โ€˜Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam,โ€™ with Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in 1999.

He was last seen in โ€˜Nikammaโ€™ alongside Shilpa Shetty and Abhimanyu Dassani. The film hit the theatres in June this year.
