Rajasthan: Congressโ€™s Bharat Jodo Yatra Resumes From Jhalawar

Congress partyโ€™s Bharat Jodo Yatra resumed from Khel Sankul in Jhalawar, Rajasthan on Tuesday

Jhalawar (Rajasthan): Congress partyโ€™s Bharat Jodo Yatra resumed from Khel Sankul in Jhalawar, Rajasthan on Tuesday.

Earlier on Sunday evening, a video of the impromptu dance performance surfaced on social media, showing Rahul, Gehlot and Pilot holding hands and dancing with folk artists on the stage. Later, speaking at the Jhalawar event, Rahul took a customary dig at the BJP and RSS, saying the Congress is a party of Mahatma Gandhi and not of (VR) Savarkar or (Nathuram) Godse.

โ€œThis is Mahatma Gandhiโ€™s party, not Savarkarโ€™s or Godseโ€™s. We know how to work hard,โ€ Rahul said.
Earlier on Sunday, before the Congressโ€™ ongoing countrywide foot march reached Rajasthan, a poster war broke out between the loyalists of Gehlot and Pilot. This was after the CMโ€™s followers tried to replace Pilotโ€™s posters in the Jhalawar district.

The incident occurred on Saturday, just days after the partyโ€™s national general secretary KC Venugopal held a meeting with the two leaders, who havenโ€™t seen eye-to-eye in the past.

In a press briefing that followed, Gehlot and Pilot were seen holding hands as the party tried to project unity amid the ongoing political tussle. Venugopal had claimed that the party was united in Rajasthan.

The press briefing came on the heels of Gehlot calling Pilot a โ€˜traitorโ€™ who can never become the Rajasthan CM in an interview to a television channel.

The former Rajasthan deputy CM later hit back at Gehlot, calling his accusations โ€˜baselessโ€™.
On December 3, Pilot released a video asking people to join the yatra when it enters the state.

Pakistan: World Community Express Concern Over The Countryโ€™s Terror Spurt

The world community expressed concern over the raging domestic turmoil in Pakistan and renewed spurt in violence

Islamabad [Pakistan]: The world community expressed concern over the raging domestic turmoil in Pakistan and renewed spurt in violence.

According to the International Forum for Rights and Security (IFFRAS), the domestic turmoil in Pakistan has shown no sign of ending and has diverted the governmentโ€™s already-wavering focus on terrorism. The International Forum for Rights and Security (IFFRAS) is a non-profit, independent, and international think tank headquartered in Toronto, Canada.

Earlier, the United Nations has expressed concern at prospects of a rise in terrorism, while the United States has promised โ€˜solidarityโ€™ and help, even as the Pakistan-Afghan regionโ€™s tribal areas tremble at the offensive by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) with violence, aided by the spread of the Islamic State (Daโ€™esh).
This came after the TTP cancelled its cease-fire pact with the Pakistan government on November 28. According to the TTP statement, they called off the ceasefire agreed with the government in June, reported Dawn.

TTP, a separate entity from the Taliban in Afghanistan but sharing a similar Islamist ideology, has been responsible for hundreds of attacks and deaths since emerging in 2007.

On December 1, Pakistanโ€™s Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that while the rise in terror incidents was alarming, it would not get โ€œout of control,โ€ a think tank reported.
Instead of dealing with the TTP, he was for the past many weeks busy with managing law and order on former prime minister Imran Khanโ€™s Long March for which thousands moved from Lahore to Islamabad.

The army did much of the fighting against the TTP, but that too was battling controversy and open criticism of its top brass, till the all-powerful army chief, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, retired on November 29. The cancellation of the cease-fire prompted Islamabad to act, but inexplicably, with โ€˜softโ€™ diplomacy of rushing its junior foreign minister, Hina Rabbani Khar, to Kabul, when the senior, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, was available at hand, according to a think tank.

Incidentally, PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhary on Thursday lashed out at the coalition government of Shehbaz Sharif and claimed that there has been a 52 per cent rise in terror attacks since the regime changed.

Fawad said that terrorism incidents in the country had increased by 52 per cent since โ€œOperation Regime Changeโ€, a euphemism his party uses to refer to the ouster of its government through a no-trust vote in April, reported Dawn.

Expressing grief over the loss of precious lives in Novemberโ€™s suicide attack near Quetta, he said the operation regime change had been carried out to topple โ€œa well-performing PTI governmentโ€ and replace it with an โ€œimported inept governmentโ€.
