Supreme Court grants interim bail to Mohammed Zubair for five days.

The Supreme Court today granted bail for five days to fact-checker Mohammed Zubair in a case registered in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, however, he will remain in jail for now as there’s still no bail in the case that’s registered in Delhi.

The SC will next hear the matter after five days. The condition of the bail is that Zubair can neither leave the jurisdiction of the Delhi Magistrate nor post any tweets.

Zubair had gone to the Supreme Court yesterday, citing death threats. He’d sought an urgent halt on the case against him in Sitapur, and the court then listed it for hearing. The Allahabad High Court had on June 10 refused to quash the FIR.
