Sena Under Siege: Transport Minister Anil Parab Summoned By ED

ED on Tuesday issued fresh summons to Maharashtra Minister Anil Parab to appear for grilling at Ballard Estate Office.

Mumbai: Maharashtra Transport Minister Anil Parab grilled by the Enforcement Directorate earlier today in relation to the money laundering probe now investigated by the agency.

โ€œThe federal agency wants to question and record Mr Parabโ€™s statement under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA)โ€ officials commented earlier today.

The Enforcement Directorate had summoned Mr. Parab to probe into suspected violations of coastal regulation zone provision in the construction of a resort in Dapoli beach area of Ratnagiri district in Maharashtra.

The official arrived for grilling at the EDโ€™s office at Ballard Estate earlier today at 11:20 AM, sources reported.

Anil Parab was summoned earlier by the ED officials on June 15, where the Sena leader failed to appear for the investigation, citing that he was out of state.

On 26th of May this year, ED officials reportedly performed searches at various sites including Parabโ€™s residence and office. Several close associates that owned the ministerโ€™s properties in Mumbai, Pune and Dapoli have also been reportedly questioned by the ED.

The agency has cracked down on several leaders under the Prevention Against Money Launder Act (PMLA) in the past year.

Top Sena officials Sanjay Kadam and Sadanam Kadam were also questioned by the ED earlier this month in relation to Parabโ€™s cable TV business. Sadanand Kadam, the brother of former Sena MP Ramdas Kadam, presently operates Anil Parabโ€™s business from Kandivali, Mumbai.

Anil Parab, is a Shiv Sena official in the Maharashtra Legislative (Upper House), Parliamentary Affairs Minister and Maharashtra State Transport Minister
