Shashi Tharoor In Guyana: โ€˜We Really Should Challenge Terrorismโ€™

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor is in Guyana. He has given a stern message in reply to Pakistan supporting terror operations across borders. Shashi Tharoor said this on Sunday, in Guyana.

The Centre has sent a multi-party delegation of members, led by the Congress Member of Parliament, Tharoor. The Centre has sent these delegations to advocate Indiaโ€™s staunch stand against Pakistan-backed terrorism.

He said that getting โ€œevil killers to justiceโ€ is not enough and that India wonโ€™t stop here. He also said that India will come in the way of anybody who finances, trains and equips terrorists.

After touring the United States of America, Tharoor reached in Georgetown and said so on Sunday.

Tharoor said, โ€œOur message is very clear. We have to stand against terrorism wherever it comes. We have to not only bring the evil killers to justice, but we must also seriously challenge those who are financing them, training them, equipping them, directing them to do their evil.โ€

He then said, โ€œWe will never let anybody believe they can just walk across the border and kill our civilians or kill anybody in our country and get away with impunityโ€ฆ We feel we have to show them there is a price to be paid. That is the message that the government of India is sending and that all of us are echoing, which is that for us, the time has come for a new normal against terrorism.โ€

He also called on the Indian diaspora to support Indiaโ€™s fight against terrorism.

โ€œWe are seeking all of you to join us in expressing support, in strength, in resolve, and in response to this kind of action if it happens again in the future. So this is the purpose of our trip,โ€ he concluded.

Shashi Tharoor is leading a delegation consisting of multiple parties. His party constitutes of Shashank Mani Tripathi, Tejaswi Surya, Bhubaneswar K Lata (all from BJP), G M Harish Balayagi (Telugu Desam Party), Shambhavi Chaudhary (Lok Janshakti Party), Mallikarjun Devda (Shiv Sena), Sarfaraz Ahmed (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha) and former Indian Ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu.

On the other hand, Guyanaโ€™s Prime Minister Mark Phillips and Vice-President Bharrat Jagdeo also expressed their support for India.
