The Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) and the Nationalist Congress Party led by Sharad Pawar on Wednesday took a swipe at the Eknath Shinde-led government over the organization of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 Road Show by the Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Mumbai on Wednesday. Shiv Sena UBT leader and MP Sanjay Raut claimed that the roadshow has been organized to attract industries from Maharashtra to Gujarat.
He slammed Chief Minister Eknath Shinde saying that he had to attend the roadshow as a slave. ‘’The spirit of Vibrant Maharashtra is being taken out and sent to Gujarat. You make a Vibrant Gujarat by reducing the importance of Maharashtra Maharashtra which was the most vibrant in attracting the industry across the country,’’ he claimed.
Raut said Maharashtra CM goes to the Vibrant Gujarat roadshow which is happening in Mumbai to attract investments in Gujarat. ‘’Are you (CM) going to Gujarat to attract industries and investments in Maharashtra? Are you (CM) visiting Ahmedabad, Lucknow, or Delhi? Have you ever visited there to attract investments in Maharashtra?’’ he asked.
On the other hand, the Sharad Pawar-led NCP chief spokesman Mahesh Tapase questioned the Maharashtra government’s silence over the Vibrant Gujarat roadshow saying that it has exposed the state’s continued struggle to attract investments thereby missing out on crucial employment opportunities for the youths from Maharashtra.
Tapase expressed shock over the Shinde-led government’s silence as Gujarat makes renewed attempts to entice businesses away from Maharashtra. He questioned why the CM Eknath Shinde and DCMs Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar have not undertaken the ‘’Magnetic Maharashtra’ campaign in Gujarat to attract investments from that state. He remarked whether this hesitancy was rooted in concerns that the central BJP leadership might threaten their current political positions.
