Shivraj Singh Chouhan Likely To Contest LS Polls From Vidisha: Reports

Reports indicate that the BJP is considering nominating former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan as their candidate from Vidisha in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Additionally, it is likely that other Madhya Pradesh leaders, including Jyotiraditya Scindia and VD Sharma, will contest from Guna and Khajuraho, respectively. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who served as Madhya Pradesh’s Chief Minister for 15 years until 2023, faced defeat in the 2023 Assembly election despite overcoming anti-incumbency.

A real estate businessman named Malapati Ashok Kumar in Prakasam district has been arrested for allegedly murdering his divorced younger sister to claim Rs 1 Crore insurance. He has been arrested for committing the crime.

As per the investigation, Kumar was facing significant debt and planned to kill her sister to claim the insurance money and stage the death as an accident.

Kumar took his sister to Ongole in his car under the pretext of a hospital visit, and while going back home, he gave her sleeping pills and smothered her to death.
The police said that the man has been arrested under various sections of the IPC, including 120 (B), 302, and 201.
