Stop Sending ‘Viksit Bharat’ Messages On WhatsApp: ECI To Centre

The ECI directed MeitY to stop sending ‘Viksit Bharat’ WhatsApp messages and requested a compliance report. Despite the announcement of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) enforcement, complaints revealed the continued delivery of government initiative messages. MeitY explained some messages were sent before the MCC, possibly delayed due to network limitations. This action aligns with ECI’s aim for fair elections.
