Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar defends former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav after CBI filed a chargesheet in a job scam case. He said that he has seen everything and there is nothing in the case. Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a chargesheet in the alleged job scam during Yadav’s tenure as Railway Minister in the Congress-led UPA government over 10 years ago.

Nitish Kumar also suggested that BJP is going after the Rashtriya Janata Dal patriarch because their parties have joined forces against them.

Speaking with the reporters he said, “What happened 5 years ago? We had parted ways (with RJD). Nothing happened (in this case). I’ve seen everything, there’s nothing there. Now that we are not with the BJP, they have started it again. They do whatever they feel like, what can we do?”

On Friday, CBI filed a chargesheet against 16 people, including Lalu Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi in the job scam case. Both are former Chief Ministers and their son is the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar.

On May 18, a case was filed against Yadavs and 12 people who got jobs in the railways. Most of them are on bail.

Lalu Prasad Yadav is accused of getting over 1 lakh square feet of land belonging to job aspirants’ families in exchange for offering them jobs.

RJD is repeatedly stating that this and all other cases against the Yadav family is a political stratagem of the BJP-led central government.

Lalu Yadav’s son Tejaswi Yadav became Deputy to CM of Bihar Nitish Kumar after the latter dumped the BJP to revive the JDU’s alliance with RJD.

Lalu Yadav’s son Tejashwi Yadav is an important ally in the Nitish government and the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar. During the previous coalition government, Nitish Kumar broke ties with the RJD and formed the government with the BJP in the year 2017 after the Lalu family was accused of giving jobs in exchange for land.
