The Indian economy is experiencing stagnating job growth, weakening employment increases, slow structural change, and growing structural labour market issues like low female participation and rising unemployment, especially for more educated groups. A study by IIM Lucknow shows higher unemployment rates for more educated groups – 0.57% for illiterates versus 14.73% for graduates in 2020-21 for ages 15-29.
