Rampur: Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan was on Thursday convicted by a court in Uttar Pradesh in a hate speech case filed against him over his comments against state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The Rampur court today convicted the Samajwadi Partyโ€™s senior leader and is expected to pronounce the quantum of the sentence at 3 pm today. A case was registered against Khan in Rampur in April 2019, for allegedly making provocative remarks against the Uttar Pradesh CM and the then District Magistrate of Rampur, Aunjaneya Kumar Singh.

Two people died and two others were injured after a brawl over a minor issue of verbal abuse between two families in the Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh, said police.

New Delhi:  Two people died and two others were injured after a brawl over a minor issue of verbal abuse between two families in the Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh, said police.

One side attacked the family of the other side with sticks and fired fiercely with a โ€œlicensedโ€ rifle. The two โ€“ a father and son โ€“ died on the spot in the firing.

At the same time, the mother and brother of the deceased youth were also injured and are admitted to hospital.

โ€œA man named Babu Singh was attacked by the family of a man named Guddu Singh in Hardoi where Babu Singh and his son died while two others were injured.

They had a brawl on a minor issue of verbal abuse,โ€ said Superintendent of Police Rajesh Dwivedi.
Efforts are underway to nab the accused, the SP said.
