According to sources, the CBI team has also visited Agrasen Gehlotโ€™s business headquarters.

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided the residence of Agrasen Gehlot, the brother of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, today in a new case of alleged corruption. According to sources, the investigation agency team has also visited Agrasen Gehlotโ€™s business headquarters.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is already investigating Agrasen Gehlotโ€™s alleged malpractice in a fertilizer export case. According to the ED, huge amounts of fertilizer were illegally exported in 2007 and 2009.

The ED has investigated Saraf Impex and others in the fertilizer case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Agrasen Gehlotโ€™s company, Anupam Krishi, allegedly exported potash through Saraf Impex. According to the ED, the exported fertilizer was intended for farmers in Rajasthan.

According to Congress politician Jairam Ramesh, the CBI searches are โ€œvendetta politics.โ€

โ€œThis is beyond the pale of vengeful politics. Ashok Gehlot has been at the vanguard of the Delhi protests for the past three days, which is the Modi governmentโ€™s audacious answer. We will not remain silent,โ€ Mr Ramesh was referring to the Congressโ€™s complaint against the ED interrogation of party leader Rahul Gandhi.
