Kanjhawala Case: Amit Khanna was driving the car when it ran over Anjali, Deepak Khanna, his relative, was not driving the vehicle

New Delhi: Deepak Khanna, one of the accused in the Kanjhawala killing was at home when the horrific incident happened, and not driving the car, reported India Today. Amit Khanna was driving the car when it ran over Anjali. Deepak, his relative, was not driving the vehicle.

Amit was driving without a license, and hence Deepak Khanna allegedly took the blame.

In this case, six men – Deepak Khanna, Manoj Mittal, Amit Khanna, Krishan, Mithun, and Ashutosh (owner of the car) – have been arrested. This morning Ashutosh was arrested. He tried to help the other five men in a cover-up. Ankush is the seventh accused in the case. Police are still searching for him.

Ashutosh has been accused of orchestrating this big plan of misleading police by sharing false information. Two hours after the murder, Ashutosh was seen in recent CCTV footage getting car keys from the suspect.

Five men have been charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder, causing death by negligence, and criminal conspiracy after they were detained hours after the hit-and-run event. They were taken to Sanjay Gandhi hospital on Thursday night for a medical examination.

Nidhi the eyewitness in the case, was seen going with Delhi Police. There are many reports stating that she has been arrested. But Delhi Police said that she is not being arrested. Delhi Police said, “There are reports in the media that Nidhi (eyewitness) has been arrested by the police. But she has been called by the police to join the investigation.”

Sudesh, mother of Kanjhawala death case eye witness Nidhi, on Thursday, claimed that her daughter was terrified after the accident and that is why she did not report the matter to the police.

While talking to ANI, she said, “You would have got scared seeing Nidhi’s condition, she was so terrified.” Her response came against the backdrop of claims by Anjali’s mother where she termed the incident a “well thought-out conspiracy.”

Anjali’s maternal uncle, Prem said he suspected Nidhi’s involvement in his niece’s death and demanded a CBI inquiry into the case.

Claiming that Anjali’s mother was lying, Sudesh said, “Nidhi came back home at 3 am. She told me a fatal accident has happened. The men tried to run the car over Nidhi as well. Nidhi survived with minor injuries. The car had tinted glass.”
