Rahul Gandhi questions the centre that why the real culprits behind the Morbi Bridge Collapse are yet roaming free?
New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday said that no action has been taken for “real culprits” of morbi bridge collapse tragedy. Last month in the tragedy over 130 people died. The Investigation is slow because they are having a “good relationship” with Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), he added.
As Rahul Gandhi was addressing an election rally in Rajkot of Gujarat, he claimed that watchmen (posted at the accident site) were arrested and jailed, no action was taken against the real culprits.
“When journalists asked me what I think about the Morbi tragedy… I said around 150 people died and this is not a political issue and so I would say nothing on this. But the question arises today as to why no action was taken against those who were behind this (tragedy), why no FIR (has been filed against them)?” he asked.

“Will nothing happen to them because they share a good relationship with the BJP? They arrested chowkidars (watchmen) and put them behind bars, but no action has been taken against the real culprits,” the Congress MP alleged.
Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi while addressing a gathering of Tribals at Mahuva, Surat said that Tribals are the first owners of the country and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is working to take away their rights. He alleged that BJP does not want tribals to prosper. He further said that he felt the pain of farmers, youth, and tribals after meeting them and hearing out their problems during Bharat Jodo Yatra.
“They call you ‘vanvasi’. They do not say you are the first owners of India, but that you live in the jungle. Do you see the difference? It means they do not want you to live in cities, they do not want that your children become engineers, doctors, learn to fly planes, speak English,” he said.
Rahul Gandhi claimed that BJP will take away their jungle from them. He said, “They want you to live in the jungle, but do not stop there. After that, they start taking the jungle from you. If it continues like this, then in another 5-10 years, all the jungles will be in the hands of two-three industrialists, and you will have no place to live, and won’t get education, health, and jobs.”
Gandhi said he is feeling sad that the Bharat Jodo Yatra of the Congress is not passing through Gujarat, where Assembly polls will be held on December 1 and 5.
The Congress MP took a break from the 3,570 km cross-country foot-march, which started from September 7 at Tamil Nadu and currently passing through adjoining Maharashtra. He addressed two rallies in support of his party candidates in the poll bound state.
