AAP Chief Kejriwal Holds Road Show In Surat, Says Gujarat Rejected Congress As Main opposition Party

AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal said that the people of Gujarat rejected the century-old politics of the Congress and chose ‘AAP’ as the main opposition party.

 

Surat| Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal, who arrived in Surat for the blistering victory of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Gujarat civic elections, met the newly elected councillors and party workers in Surat and congratulated them for this resounding victory. On reaching Surat, AAP workers greeted Arvind Kejriwal with a warm welcome. Kejriwal has described this victory as the beginning of new politics in Gujarat.

Kejriwal said that since the results have come out, he has been listening to the statements of BJP and Congress leaders. “They are scared. We know that they are not afraid of you or the Aam Aadmi Party. They are scared of those who voted for AAP. We are 27, they are 93. No matter the number, each man of ours will outnumber ten of theirs. The people of Surat have given you the role of the opposition.”

Kejriwal said that BJP has been ruling here for the last 25 years. “It is not that they are doing very well. There are a lot of issues here too. Different parties come to power in states across the country, but only one party is ruling here because they have kept other parties in their pockets. There is no one to stop them, they are doing whatever they want. Today, for the first time, when the BJP found someone to question them.”

AAP won 27 seats in Surat civic elections

Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday thanked the people of the state for the party’s good performance in the civic elections in Gujarat and getting 27 seats, saying that the people of Gujarat rejected the century-old politics of the Congress and chose ‘AAP’ as the main opposition party, which shows that they want politics of development and work in the state.

Kejriwal had said that ‘AAP’ had made a dent in BJP’s fort in Surat by securing 27 seats in the civic elections.
