AAP membership shoots up by 1 million within 24 hours of Delhi victory

AAP has launched a nation-building campaign, Aam Aadmi Party’s Rashtra Nirman has invited many Indians to join the party to develop India

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party has won Delhi assembly elections with a thumping majority, the Arvind Kejriwal-led party has won a staggering 62 seats and come back to power for the third time. Now AAP has said more than 10 lakh people have joined AAP in a day since the massive victory.

Through a tweet on Thursday, AAP said, “More than 1 million people have joined AAP within 24 hours of our massive victory.”

AAP has launched a nation-building campaign, Aam Aadmi Party’s Rashtra Nirman has invited many Indians to join the party to develop India.

Aam Aadmi Party led by Arvind Kejriwal in 2012 washed out Congress from the Delhi assembly map in the 2015 elections and this time it remains the same. AAP came to power riding the anti-incumbency wave against the earlier Sheila Dikshit government of Congress. Now, Congress has zero seats in the Delhi assembly.

Apart from Congress, the party got a stupendous victory yet again in the Delhi Assembly elections in 2020, dealing several hurdles with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by PM Modi and Amit Shah.

In the 2020 elections, 51-year-old politician almost replicated AAP’s fairytale victory of 2015 (AAP won 67 of 70 seats) by riding on his government’s development agenda, and in the process emerged as a major leader in the national political landscape.

As the AAP got a massive victory, leaders from another state including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Mamata Banerjee, Naveen Patnaik, and MK Stalin congratulated Kejriwal for the historic win.
