Anti-BJP parties will meet on November 22 to decide strategy: Chandrababu Naidu

Chandrababu Naidu said that the political parties in the country should decide which side they are supporting. “If they do not support us, that means they are with the BJP,” he said.

Vijayawada| The opposition parties will be meeting on November 22 in New Delhi to discuss the future course of action, informed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP President Chandrababu Naidu. Talking to reporters he said that the aim is to create a common platform for anti-BJP parties and chalk out their future course of action.

On Saturday, Chandrababu Naidu met AICC General Secretary Ashok Gehlot in Vijayawada. Gehlot was in the city to meet Naidu as an emissary of Congress President Rahul Gandhi. Chandrababu Naidu said that the effort was to bring everybody on board under the slogan- ‘Save democracy and save the nation’.
Naidu further stressed that there are only two fronts in India- BJP and Anti-BJP. He said that the political parties in the country should decide which side they are supporting. “If they do not support us, that means they are with the BJP,” he said.
Chandrababu Naidu after breaking away from BJP and NDA had sided with Congress and has been since trying to bring the opposition parties together. Recently he met JD(S) patron HD Deve Gowda and his son Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy and DMK Chief MK Stalin. In the past, he had met West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. He re-asserted his earlier statement that he does not expect anything from this effort. He said that he is not the face of the anti-BJP front.
“Now I have convinced everybody. Everybody is willing to cooperate with us. In this experiment, Congress is the main opposition party. They have more responsibility. We have to acknowledge that,” Naidu said. He further expressed hope that some parties may join the anti-BJP front after Assembly elections while some may join after Lok Sabha elections.
