Apna Dal will decide on alliance with BJP on February 28

Apna Dal (S) has called for a meeting of national and state office bearers on February 28 in Lucknow.

 

Lucknow| Union Minister of State for Health and Apna Dal(S) leader Anupriya Patel has sharpened the attack on the top BJP leaders of the state government and the Centre. Patel has accused the BJP of neglecting the allies and their concerns. She has also announced the date for taking a final decision on the alliance. The party has called for a meeting of national and state office bearers on February 28 in Lucknow. The announcement will be made at the meeting whether the Apna Dal will continue its coalition with BJP or not.

The National President of Apna Dal (S), MLC Ashish Patel, said that despite being in the coalition, their concerns and opinions are not taken into consideration. He said that the a faction of state BJP does not want that Apna Dal (S) to be a part of the NDA alliance.

The Apna Dal has been a part of NDA alliance in Uttar Pradesh for the last four years. However, it has often expressed its displeasure over not getting the due importance in the alliance. The party leaders were not given any crucial positions on commissions and boards. Apart from this, the party had demanded to provide the benefits of reservation in outsourcing, contractual and private institutions to Dalit and backward, to stop recruitment from the roster system and adequate participation of the Dalits and backward caste to the police station. The party leadership says that the state BJP is not fulfilling any demand.
