Ahmedabad | Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah will file his nomination for the upcoming Lok Sabha election from Gujarat’s Gandhinagar on Saturday.
Shah, who is contesting Lok Sabha election for the first time, will be accompanied by Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray during his nomination. Shiv Sena and BJP have formed an alliance to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha together in Maharashtra amid a dispute between the local leadership. Shah is been credited for playing a role in the alliance formation.
In order to showcase the strength of the alliance, Amit Shah invited Thackeray to join him during the nomination and Thackeray accepted his invitation. Before filing the nomination the BJP president will take in a 4-km long road show from Sardar Patel statue in Naranpura and end in Patidar chowk.
Amit Shah a Rajya Sabha MP has replaced veteran BJP leader LK Advani as BJP candidate from the Gandhinagar constituency.
